The La Mamounia has retained its artful blend of two worlds, as well as its reputation as Morocco's premier hotel. Comfort, service and attention to detail are never in question. Each day a barbecue buffet of endless choices is prepared around the pool. If you eat too much, you can stroll through the gardens or go the two blocks to Marrakech's famous Place de Djemma el Fna and watch the dancers, snake charmers and storytellers. This is also the entrance to the medina where you can shop for carpets, gold, silver, leather, herbs and incense and who knows what else.

Rooms on the garden side are $350, while those on the Koutoubia side are $300. (Koutoubia is the famous mosque.)
